Digital Innovation Facility
The presentation of Professor Petković focused on the training sessions and insights gained during the study visit. Presentation delivered on 19th September 2024, was about Digital Innovation Facility. On the first day in Liverpool, the participants visited the Liverpool Knowledge Quarter and the Digital Innovation Facility, hosted by Claire Kidman. They explored cutting-edge labs such as the extreme environments lab, the mixed reality lab, and the immersive lab, followed by a visit to LYVA Labs. Additionally, Professor Petković highlighted the visit to the Liverpool Science Park, where Mike Bett presented on the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) and Digital Manufacturing Accelerator (DMA). The focus was on bridging the gap between academia and industry, using digitalization to enhance complex manufacturing processes through Industry 4.0 technologies. The visit also included a tour of the Materials Innovation Factory and an innovation-related walking tour of Liverpool. On the second day of the visit, the group visited the University of Salford in Manchester, hosted by Jennifer Hinsley, where they toured the university’s facilities and the Salford Energy House. Later, they visited BBC Research and Development, hosted by Graeme Phillipson, and explored the role of AI in media through Project Emerald. The study visit concluded with group presentations and the awarding of certificates. The visit provided valuable insights into fostering sustainable entrepreneurship through innovation management and digitalization.
