Sustainability reporting and waste management
On February 9, 2024, the second group on secondment from the Faculty of Economics – Skopje, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, delivered an insightful presentation summarizing their academic experience in Arezzo, Italy, hosted by OpenCom Italy.
Professor Aleksandar Naumovski delved into the group’s insights on “sustainability,” focusing on corporate sustainability reporting mechanisms like GRI, EU NRD, and CSRD. He emphasized the critical role of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations, in alignment with the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, he highlighted successful methodologies and a case study regarding Estra SPA, a business explored during their visit.
Professor Stojan Debarliev discussed “Waste Management and Circular Economy,” using Aisa Impianti as an exemplary model of achieving zero waste goals and enhancing resource efficiency through circular economy principles. Debarliev showcased the company’s innovative approaches in its waste processing plant, emphasizing the significance of such models in driving global sustainability efforts.
