Sustainable Innovation

Milica Bodganović delivered presentation on 19^th September 2024. The focus of Milica’s presentation was on sustainable innovation and the insights gained during the secondments. On the first day in Manchester, the presentation began with an introduction to the International Society for Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM) by Iain Bitran, followed by an innovation-related walking tour of the city. The visit also included sessions at Alliance Manchester Business School and the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, where topics such as science and technology policy, sustainable innovation, and the impact of AI on sustainable value chains were discussed.

Milica highlighted the importance of the collaboration between universities and industry, as demonstrated by the presentations at Manchester Metropolitan University’s Business School. Here, academics emphasized the fusion of innovation and growth, particularly in the UK’s North West region. The visit also featured interactive workshops by Professor John Bessant, focusing on best practices in innovation management systems, technology transfer, and partnerships within the innovation ecosystem. These secondments provided valuable insights into fostering sustainable entrepreneurship through innovation management and strategic collaboration across academia and industry.
