The third focus group, UT

The third focus group at the Faculty of Economics in Tirana was held July 17, 2024. Five respondents participated in the focus group.

Three participants are experts from the ICT sector, in the same time professors at the Faculty of Economics, at Department of Statistics and Applied Informatics, Kreshnik Vukatana, Xhulio Mitre and Muhamet Zeneli. The rest participants are in the field of business consulting and innovation and professors at the Faculty of Economics: Nertila Busho and Megi Cali. The aim of this discussion was to highlight the challenges and opportunities of the technology transfer and sustainable entrepreneurship in open innovation ecosystem in developing transitional economies.

In order to collect information on various aspects of technology transfer and sustainable entrepreneurship in open innovation ecosystem in developing transitional economies, challenges and opportunities faced by actors, the participants of the focus group were asked questions divided into next segments: Identification of key actors in open innovation ecosystems and the challenges relates to the technology transfer; Intellectual property rights implementation in Albania; Impact of institutions in Albania and their initiatives as a catalyst for innovation; Technology transfer aspects in Albania, the challenges and future initiatives.

Respondents concluded that there is an increase in government and international funding.

Interest is growing from businesses, but this cooperation must be transparent and visionary. This encourages the creation of new ideas in the future.
